DREAMSCAPE POLICY

DreamScape Acceptable Use & Prohibited Content Policy

Version: 1.1

Effective Date: July 1, 2026

1. Purpose

DreamScape is a creative, offline AI application designed for storytelling, roleplay, writing, worldbuilding, and conversation.

While DreamScape is built to encourage creativity, every user is responsible for using the application lawfully and responsibly.

This policy explains what is and is not permitted when using DreamScape.

2. Your Responsibility

DreamScape operates entirely on your own computer.

The DreamScape Project does not host your chats, characters, scenarios, or memory logs, and cannot monitor, review, or moderate content stored on your device.

Because of this, you are solely responsible for anything you create, import, export, save, or share using DreamScape.

Using DreamScape does not exempt you from complying with local, state, federal, or international laws that apply to you.

3. Permitted Uses

DreamScape may be used for lawful purposes, including:

These examples are not exhaustive.

4. Prohibited Uses

You may not use DreamScape for activities that violate applicable law.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

DreamScape may not be used to knowingly facilitate illegal activity.

5. Fictional Content

DreamScape supports fictional storytelling and roleplay.

However, the existence of fictional content does not override applicable law.

You are responsible for ensuring that the content you create, possess, export, or distribute complies with the laws that apply to you.

The DreamScape Project makes no representation regarding the legality of any particular type of fictional content in your jurisdiction.

6. Imported Content

DreamScape allows users to import character files created by other users.

Before importing files, you should ensure that they come from sources you trust.

The DreamScape Project does not review imported files and cannot guarantee:

Importing third-party content is done at your own risk.

7. Exported, Shared & Submitted Content

DreamScape allows users to export characters, share them with others, and voluntarily submit eligible characters to optional official online services such as the Shared Character Library.

Once you choose to export, share, publish, or submit content, you become responsible for that distribution or submission.

You should not knowingly share or submit:

The DreamScape Project is not responsible for files exchanged independently between users through Discord, Google Drive, email, websites, or other third-party services.

Content submitted to the official DreamScape Shared Character Library is subject to additional Shared Character Library Submission Guidelines, moderation review, and community-content standards. A type of fictional content being permitted for lawful private local use does not guarantee that it is eligible for publication in the Shared Character Library.

8. AI-Generated Responses

DreamScape uses AI language models to generate responses.

AI-generated responses:

Users remain responsible for how they choose to use AI-generated content.

9. Privacy

DreamScape is designed to operate locally.

During normal local use, the DreamScape Project does not automatically receive your:

Because the DreamScape Project cannot access content that remains only on your device, it cannot remove, edit, recover, or moderate that local content.

When you voluntarily use an optional online feature, only information necessary for that feature may be transmitted. For example, a character you intentionally submit to the Shared Character Library is transmitted for moderation, storage, publication, and distribution as described in the DreamScape Privacy Policy and applicable Shared Character Library rules.

10. Reporting Illegal Content

Because DreamScape is an offline application, the DreamScape Project cannot investigate or remove content stored on a user's computer.

If you become aware of illegal activity involving DreamScape, you should report it to the appropriate authorities or to the platform where the content is being distributed.

If the DreamScape Project becomes aware that official DreamScape distribution channels are being used to distribute illegal material, appropriate action may be taken, including removing access to those channels or reporting unlawful activity where required by law.

11. Violations

Violating this policy may result in the termination of any permission granted to use DreamScape under the DreamScape Software License & Terms of Use.

Where appropriate, the DreamScape Project may also remove access to official DreamScape communities, support channels, or future online services.

Nothing in this policy limits the DreamScape Project's ability to cooperate with lawful requests from governmental authorities where legally required.

12. Optional Online Features

DreamScape may provide optional online services, including update checks, the Shared Character Library, and other future features.

Additional rules may apply to those services. Those rules may include submission standards, moderation requirements, privacy disclosures, or other service-specific conditions.

Optional online services do not change DreamScape's local-first design. Locally stored creative content is not automatically uploaded merely because an online feature exists.

13. Questions

Questions regarding this policy may be directed through the official DreamScape Discord community or any future official contact method provided by the DreamScape Project.

Our Goal

DreamScape exists to give people a powerful, private, and creative AI experience.

We ask every user to respect the law, respect other people, and use DreamScape responsibly so that the community can continue to grow in a positive direction.
